Riding the Bronto Skylift, Acting Governor Teguh Reviews Glodok Plaza Closer

Acting Jakarta Governor, Teguh Setyabudi visited the fire incident location of Glodok Plaza, Mangga Besar, Taman Sari, West Jakarta, Saturday (1/18).

Thanks to the joint cooperation

Teguh's visit was accompanied by Acting Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Head, Satriadi Gunawan, and West Jakarta Mayor, Uus Kuswanto. During his visit, Teguh also rode Bronto Skylift to see the burnt building closer.

"We are keep monitoring this incident. On behalf of the provincial government, we convey our condolences of the deceased victims families. We hope they are remain strong and patience, also the injured victims who have been treated in the hospital," Teguh said.

Search for Missing Glodok Plaza Fire Victims Still Ongoing

The collapsed roof building, Teguh added, shows that the fire incident of the Glodok Plaza was very large.

"The incident was handled well. Thanks to the joint cooperation," he added.

He continued that nine people were successfully evacuated and seven dead bodies found.

"We're still running the searching process by paying attention to the burnt building. Our limit is seven days, but it can be extended if needed," he continued.

Teguh also has instructed Jakarta Social Agency to collect data and run counselling for fire victims to be able to use Health Insurance Card or insurance.

"Baznas Bazis also has delivered assistance for the victims, and Jakarta Provincial Government will do the same," he said.

Teguh mentioned that his side is still waiting the investigation study result related with the incident cause.

"Meetings with related stakeholders were already held to evaluate various variables and aspects," he added.

Teguh also thanked the Police, Basarnas, PMI and all sides involved in handling the fire of Glodok Plaza.

Meanwhile, Acting Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency, Satriadi Gunawan, stated fire safety certification is required for every building and the fire protection inspection is carried out per year.

"This building is already included in fire protection monitoring," he stated.

Together with the building owner, his side will clean the fire debris inside the building before continuing searching the missing victims.
