Free Emission Test Intensified, City Council Vice Chairwoman Says

Jakarta City Council's Vice Chairwoman, Ima Mahdiah supports the effort of Jakarta Environmental Agency to intensify the free emission test.

According to her, the program is important to improve the air quality in Jakarta and support the environment-friendly vehicles.

"We support the effort fully since it relates with Jakarta environment and affects the resident's life," she said, Tuesday (1/21).

Environment Agency Holds Free Emission Test at Satya Negara Indonesia University

Ima appeals the agency to intensify the importance of emission test socialization.

Ima suggested Jakarta Provincial Government to give tax incentive for vehicles passing the test. It aims to gain the interest in emission test.

"Motor vehicle tax discount can be applied as one of the solutions," she added.

As for information, Jakarta Environmental Agency held a free emission test in Satya Negara Indonesia University (USNI), Jalan Arteri Pondok Indah, Kebayoran Lama Utara, Urban Village, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

The activity targeted motorycle and car as an effort to create healthier environment and free-pollution air.

The vehicle owners were asked to run maintenance regularly if the vehicles failed the test.
