Gulkarmat to Intensify Fire Mitigation Education

Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Agency plans to intensify the fire mitigation education at densely populated areas. One of the areas is on Jalan Kemayoran Gempol, Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

Acting Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Head, Satriadi Gunawan said the education will give material related to potential and trigger of fire.

Gunawan reminds resident not leaving the stove on while cooking, letting children play with matches, and installing electrical installation that do not comply with the regulation. He added that those are able to trigger fire incident.

"If fire incident occurs, resident should understand the evacuation technique and call the firefighter for further handling," he said, Wednesday (1/22).

Not only intensifying education, he continued, his side will also strengthen the preparedness of fire volunteer (Redkar) in Kemayoran Gempol.

"Hopefully the preparedness of resident and fire volunteer will be better," he stated.
