"My hope is that having volunteers will be a gateway for education in the community," he explained.
To support them, he added, they must have portable extinguisher (APAR) to hydrant.
"Ideally, each RT has APAR. Hydrant is also important to smoothen access to water during fire extinguishing," he explained.
For a long-term solution, he encouraged the government to improve the spatial planning of residential areas to make them safer from fire. Regular checks on electrical installations were also needed to prevent short circuits that could trigger fires.
"Let's fix the setup first. A livable house is also needed, at least the landscape has been set to anticipate fires so they can be handled quickly," he added.
He prompted the public to play an active role in preventing fires in their neighborhood, especially by using standard electrical installations and devices.
"We will try to resolve it structurally, integrally, not casuistically, and we won't let it happen again in other places," he stressed.
