Handling Remains Continued as Inundation Recedes

The inundated areas in Jakarta due to heavy rain since last night, Tuesday (1/28), now start to recede on Wednesday (1/29) noon. Based on the data from Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Agency (BPBD), inundation in several RTs and roads have receded at 1 PM.

We also cooperate with related Regional Working Units

The free-inundation areas become 12 urban villages from several sub-districts and 16 roads.

Meanwhile, several locations in West Jakarta and North Jakarta are still inundated. About 34 RTs and 16 roads are still inundated especially in Cengkareng, Kedaung Kali Angke, Kelapa Gading and Pluit. The water height is vary from 10-100 cm.

Jakarta BPBD Agency Implementer Head, Isnawa Adji, said his side keeps deploying personnel to ensure the acceleration of inundation receding.

"We also cooperate with related Regional Working Units such as SDA Agency, Bina Marga, Gulkarmat, Environmental Agency, and PPSU from each region to suck the water and ensure channel water flow," he said, Wednesday (1/29).

Jakarta BPBD Agency also has distributed assistance for residents impacted by the inundation in refugee camps. The assistances are mineral water, food, blanket, and clothing.

The agency also reminds residents to stay alert for another inundation potential since the rainfall remains high. Residents may able to contact call center 112 for emergency situation.
