43 Vehicles Take Free Emission Test in North Jakarta Mayor Office

As many as 43 vehicles both gasoline-fueled and diesel-fueled took part in free emission test in North Jakarta Mayor Office.

North Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency Head, Edy Mulyanto said the free emission test targeted agency's operational vehicles, civil servant private vehicles, guest vehicles and local resident vehicles.

He added that the vehicles were eight two-wheeled motorcycles, 33 gasoline-fueled vehicles, and two diesel-fueled vehicles. As the result, 40 vehicles passed the test and three remaining vehicles failed.
"We suggest the owner of vehicles failed the test to run routine maintenance," he added.
According to him, the sub-agency needs to ensure the vehicles entering the North Jakarta Mayor Office obeying the emission standard.
"Hopefully it also can increase the air quality, society health, increase fuel efficiency, extend the vehicle life, and improve regulatory compliance," he continued.
Meanwhile, North Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency's Pollution and Environmental Damage Control Section Head, Evy Sulistiawati stated five emission test tools were deployed during the service.
"The test is free. Hopefully the civil servants and residents to take part in the service," she stated.
She expllained that the free emission test will be held in six sub-districts in North Jakarta.
"We need to ensure vehicles meet the required emission to protect the environment," she said.
