Two Infiltration Wells Built on Untung Jawa Island

Personnel from the Seribu Islands Water Resources Agency (SDA), completed the construction of two infiltration wells in the residential area of RT 02/03, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Seribu Islands Sun-district, Seribu Islands.

Seribu Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Mustajab said the construction of the two water absorption wells is a follow-up to te resident's direct proposal, as flooding often occurs during heavy rain.

"We send ten personnel to build two wells. This work has been ongoing since February 6, 2025," he explained, Monday (2/17).

Five Infiltration Wells Built in MIN 12 Cibubur Yard

He explained each of these wells has60 centimeters long and 40 centimeters wide with 50 centimeters deep. They would be connected to each other between one tank and another using six-inch PVC pipes.

"We do first excavate for the soak pit and connect it with pipes, and later this soak pit will be closed manually," he explained.

Hopefully, it could make the road and residential areas free from flooding, allowing residents and tourists to conduct activities safely and comfortably.

"Please residents to maintain and care for the infiltration well by not littering," he stressed.

This work received appreciation from one of the residents from RW 03, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, Bustomi.

"Thank you for building the infiltration well in our area. Hopefully, there will be no more floods," he said.
