Seribu Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Hendri said the well is built to follow up on residents' aspirations to prevent inundation in the rainy season.

"This work has been ongoing since July 16 and is targeted for completion by the end of this week," he explained.
According to him, its existence would become a place for rainwater to infiltrate into the ground. Besides preventing inundation, stored water could improve clean water sources in the ground.
"We also often dredge the channels and drainage tanks at the location," he explained.
The work above received appreciation from a resident from RT 06/04, Tidung Island Urban Village, Maulana (54).
"It has been fast and neat so far. Hopefully, it can speed up the infiltration of rainwater into the ground to prevent inundation," he said.
