Joint Personnel Construct Batu Ampar Channel Crossing

As many as 12 joint personnel of Water Resources Taskforce and PPSU construct channel crossing on Jalan Haji Raijin RT 16/02 Batu Ampar, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, Friday (2/21).

to smooth water flow from Batu Ampar to Induk River

Kramat Jati Sub-district's Water Resources Implementer Unit Head, Muchlis explained the channel crossing construction along five meters and width 2.8 meters is run by dismantling retain wall and fence around resident's houses manually. The location is on the edge of Batu Ampar Connecting Channel.

"The construction aims to smooth water flow from Batu Ampar to Induk River. There is a queue of water during heavy rain at the meeting point of the two rivers," he said.

Channels Dredging in Monas Area to Be Completed by March

Muchlis admitted the personnel must transport the material by using PPSU's motorcycle-cart since car can not access the location.

"The progress is still 20 percent. It is targeted to complete in three weeks," he added.

Meanwhile, Batu Ampar Urban Village's Economy and Development Section Head, Isra Nur Hikmah explained the construction aims to smooth the water flow since the area is often inundated by 30 cm.

"The construction is also to respond resident's report related the problem," she explained.
