Our cheap food bazaar will start on Monday. We will begin at the City Hall
The statement above was confirmed by Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno after he visited the Cipinang Rice Main Market and the PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya warehouse on Saturday (2/22).
"Our cheap food bazaar will start on Monday. We will begin at the City Hall," he expressed.
Deputy Gov Rano: Meat Stocks Secured Up to RamadhanHe admitted one of the concerns nowadays was ensuring the availability of staple food ahead of Ramadhan and Idulfitri. By so, the stability of food prices in the market could also be well controlled.
According to him, the inflation data for Jakarta in January 2025 is 0.14 percent, which is quite good and below the national figure. It was estimated that during Ramadan until idulfitri, there would be an increase in demand that would
affect price hikes."This is normal in market mechanisms. However, the Jakarta Government must be able to maintain supply so that price stability remains controlled," he asserted.
He explained the current rice stocks in Jakarta hit 68,000 to 70,000 tons and daily market demand was around two thousand tons.
Then there were 435 tons of granulated sugar, around 47,000 liters of cooking oil, 545 tons of chicken meat, around 28 tons of curly red chilies and around seven tons of red chilies.
"I'm not saying oversupply but everything is under control. Alhamdulillah (thank God), Jakarta's food needs, both protein and vegetable, are under control," he stated.
