Ahead of Ramadan, Jakarta Provides Cheap Staple Food for PJLP

To provide staple food needs ahead of Ramadan, the Jakarta Provincial Government provided cheap staple food supplies for employees in the Jakarta City Hall area, especially PJLPs.

It has been running since mid-January until yesterday

This is an effort to control inflation, especially in the food group in Jakarta.

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono said cheap staple food items were being introduced again to anticipate price hikes caused by high demand ahead of Ramadan and Idul Fitri.

It was also intended to appreciate those who dedicated themselves to the Jakarta Government.

"It has been running since mid-January until yesterday in the regions, at urban village offices. Then today, we opened cheap basic food supplies for Jakarta and PJLP employees. We do it because of their aspirations, as well as a form of appreciation for being dedicated and working for the Jakarta Government," he expressed, at City Hall, Friday (3/8).

He explained the supporting partners for today's cheap staple food activities were Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) and Sampurna Indonesia. Meanwhile, the food BUMDs present as food providers were Perumda Pasar Jaya and Perumda Dharma Jaya.

Until now, 35 participating partners have supported cheap staple food activities since January 2024.

He hoped that there would be more partners participating in Cheap Basic Food activities before Ramadhan and Idul Fitri.

"Thank you to BTN and Sampurna Indonesia that have been involved in the cheap staple food market at City Hall today, as well as all partners who have been involved and continue to support Jakarta Government programs," he explained.

Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati uttered there were 3,000 cheap staple food packages for employees consisting of 2,000 dried food packages priced at Rp 100,000 containing 5 kg of rice, 2 liters of cooking oil, 1 kg of granulated sugar, and 1 kg of wheat flour. Then, 1,000 packages of dried food plus animal protein at Rp 150,000.

"Apart from staple food packages prioritized for PJLP, the food packages are also available for the general public such as 2,000 instant noodles, various livestock products, fisheries, etc. at below market prices," she stated.
