Crowds Flock to Cipayung Public Cemetery as Ramadan Approaches

Approaching the holy month of Ramadan 1446 Hijri, Cipayung Public Cemetery (TPU), East Jakarta, is seeing a surge in grave visitors. The number of visitors is expected to continue increasing until the D-1 of Ramadan.

In response, East Jakarta City Park and Forestry (Tamhut) Sub-agency Head, Dwi Ponangsera urged the TPU officers and PJLPs to work diligently without accepting money from grave visitors under any circumtances.

"We have to anticipate it since the beginning. For security, we are supported by Garnisun," he conveyed, Monday (2/24).

East Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency's Green Lane and City Forest Section Head, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita stated, the number of grave visitors on weekends could reach 500-1,000 people, a significant increase compared to normal days which are between 100-200 people.

"Cipayung Public Cemetery has 4,643 grave plots, all designated for Islam burials. We remain committed to providing exceptional service to grave visitors," he said.

He also urged grave visitors to maintain TPU area's cleanliness by not littering.

"We have prepared trash bins throughout TPU area," he emphasized.
