Jakarta to Hold Bazaars During Ramadhan

The Jakarta Agency of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) will hold bazaars in five municipalities during the fasting month, which kicks off next week. This aims to strengthen the people's economy through empowering MSMEs

Hopefully, Jakarta MSMEs can grow further

Jakarta Agency of PPKUKM Head, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo said the bazaar would be held at various strategic points involving six OPDs supporting Jakarta Entrepreneur (Jakpreneur).

As for the provincial level, the main event was slated to be held at Lapangan Banteng. Meanwhile, at the administrative city level, it would take place at each mayor's office.

This would also reach sub-districts, thus more residents could feel the benefits. Besides these main locations, the Jakarta Government also planned to utilize other public spaces.

"We'll involve the urban village and sub-district heads to determine a location that can accommodate 20-30 MSMEs," she expressed, Tuesday (2/25).

She explained the bazaar was scheduled to run starting in early March 2025. Collaboration with stakeholders in supporting the success of the bazaar would be realized, including Bank DKI, Financial Services Authority (OJK), KPPD, Food Station, and Dharma Jaya.

"Hope this can provide wider access for MSMEs to obtain financing and increase the competitiveness of their products," she explained.

She hoped that the momentum of Ramadan could be used as a means of promotion for MSMEs and make it easier for people to get quality products at competitive prices.

Therefore, the Jakarta Government invited all people to come to the bazaars spread across the sub-districts, mayor's offices, and City Hall during Ramadan.

"Hopefully, Jakarta MSMEs can grow further, the economy becomes stronger, and people can enjoy the fasting month with easy access to basic necessities and quality products. This is not only a shopping event, but also a form of support for local MSMEs to be more advanced and competitive," she stated.
