Jakarta ASN Working Hours Adjusted During Ramadan 2025

The Jakarta Government has issued Circular Letter (SE) No. 8/SE/2025 which regulates the adjustment of working hours for State Civil Apparatus (ASN) during the holy month of Ramadan 1446 H/2025.

"...to give their best services to residents," 

Jakarta Regional Staffing Agency (BKD) Head, Chaidir said, this policy will be effective on 1 Ramadan 1446 H, in accordance with the guidelines of the Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs.

Based on the circular letter, ASN working hours on Monday-Thursday starts from 8:00 to 15:00 WIB, with break at 12:00-12:30 WIB. While on Friday, ASN working hours is from 08:00-15:30 WIB with break at 11:30-12:30 WIB.

Chaidir said that the working hours is adjusted to provide flexibility for ASN in carrying out fasting without reducing their productivity. In addition, this policy is expected to maintain the quality of public services to remain optimal during Ramadan.

For work units that serve the public for 24 hours, such as hospitals and firefighters, a special work system or shift will be applied.

He appealed to all regional heads to optimize the direct supervisor's role in ensuring the tasks and quality of services to the community to run effectively, efficiently, and accountably.

"Fasting month shouldn't hinder the Jakarta ASN to give their best services to residents," he asserted.

Moreover, he added, the adjustment of ASN working hours during Ramadan is in line with the government's efforts to respect the fasting of Muslims.

"As well as to ensure that public services to run well without any disruption," he mentioned.
