She explained this was done by conducting sample tests on food products from agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.

"From the results of laboratory tests, we did not find any food products containing dangerous chemicals such as formalin, borax and pesticides," she explained.

According to her, the same action was also spotted in traditional markets in collaboration with the Jakarta Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BBPOM).

"The public must be more careful before buying. Check the product's content composition and expiration information," she added.

East Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency (KPKP) Head, Taufik Yulianto added supervision of food products would be intensified during Ramadhan, especially ahead of Idulfitri.

"Our target is 22 traditional markets and five modern markets," he added.

He stated traders were also educated not to sell dangerous or unsafe food products.

"We want to ensure that the food products sold or distributed are safe for consumption," he said.
