East Jakarta Health Sub-agency has tested 375 break fast meal (takjil) samples from the various locations since March 1-11, 2025.
East Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Herwin Meifendy said the test of ingredients and content of takjil aims to ensure it is safe for consumption.

"The tested samples that contained formalin were tofu, yellow noodle, risol, and martabak. Those samples are being checked again at Labkesda," he said, Wednesday (3/12).
He explained that the takjil tests have been conducted in Jatinegara Kaum Urban Village, Jatinegara Urban Village, and Kebon Pala Urban Village. Another test to be held in other urban villages up to end of Ramadan month.
"We also educate traders to ensure their products are not containing formalin, borax, methanil yellow, and rhodamin B," he explained.
He hoped the residents will be free of food and drink that contain dangerous substances through takjil supervision and education.
