SWRO and BWRO in Thousand Islands Maintained in Top Condition

Thousand Islands Acting Regent, M. Fadjar Churniawan continues to ensure the existing Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) and Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) on seven inhabited islands are in optimal condition and functioning properly.

"We will always ensure the water consumed by residents for drinking, bathing, and washing is safe,"

According to him, SWRO and BWRO are essential to meet the clean water needs of Thousand Islands residents.

Seribu Islands: Residents' Clean Water Needs Fulfilled

"This week, I have monitored in Harapan Island, Kelapa Island, Karya Island, Panggang Island, Tidung Island, Lancang Island, and Untung Jawa Island. Alhamdulillah, all of them are working well," he informed, on Thursday (3/13).

Fadjar explained that all SWROs in Thousand Islands are capable of producing clean water up to 1,867 liters per day, with an allocation of 64 liters per day for each resident.

"Each island has a different capacity based on the needs of the community," he added.

He revealed that access to clean water, including drinking water, is of utmost importance for Thousand Islands residents, making it a top priority for the government.

"We will always ensure the water consumed by residents for drinking, bathing, and washing is safe," he asserted.

In addition, he ensured that the Waste Water Treatment Plant (IPAL) systems on six islands are running well. Currently, the only IPAL undergoing repairs is on Kelapa Island.

"Alhamdulillah, there are no problems with IPAL, except for the one on Kelapa Island, which is undergoing repairs," he mentioned.

Meanwhile, Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency Head, Mustajab, said that his party will conduct routine maintenance and inspections of BWRO and SPALD water treatment systems on each island.

"We have also prepared various supporting infrastructure and facilities. Although SWRO is the responsibility of Perumda PAM Jaya, we still assist with monitor to ensure optimal performance," he stated.
