Seribu Islands: Residents' Clean Water Needs Fulfilled

The Seribu Islands District Development Planning Sub-agency is monitoring the Water Treatment Installation (IPA) using Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) and Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) technology on seven residential islands.

Seribu Islands District Development Planning Sub-agency Head, Achmad Ichsan Tasik said the monitoring aims to ensure that the clean water needs of the people in Seribu Islands are met.
"By the regent's instructions, we ensure that the IPA SWRO and BWRO systems in Seribu Islands are in good condition. Thus, the water will remain sufficient," he expressed, Thursday (8/29).
Here are City's Steps to Handle Flood, Water, and Pollution Problems in the Last 5 YearsHe explained the seven residential islands that had been monitored were Harapan Island, Kelapa Island, Kelapa Dua Island, Pramuka Island, Tidung Island, Lancang Island, and Untung Jawa Island.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), we have visited and inspected the SWRO and BWRO IPA systems on seven residential islands. All the equipment is functioning well," he explained.
According to him, each island has a different IPA capacity according to community needs. Overall, the SWRO in Seribu Islands is capable of producing up to 1,867 liters of clean water per day.
"For the allocation of clean water for each resident, it is 64 liters per day. We've also added the capacity of the water tower on Harapan Island so that the residents' clean water needs can be met with quantity, quality, continuity, and affordability," he explained.
Seribu Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Mustajab added checking and maintenance of the SWRO and BWRO IPA on each island is routinely done.
"Hopefully, the community's clean water consumption needs are met. We will increase capacity if the community needs it," he stated.
