Joint Personnel Control Street Vendors and Illegal Parking in Tanah Abang

Hundreds of joint personnel of Central Jakarta Government, Monday (3/17), controlled street vendors and illegal parking at Tanah Abang Market. The activity was led by Central Jakarta Government Assistant, Denny Ramdany.

Please do not disturb the public order

Denny said the controlling was held to enforce the regional regulation related to Tanah Abang Market condition that is started to be flocked by visitors ahead of Eid.

"We are happy to see the economic activity at Tanah Abang Market increases. But we must anticipate to prevent unwanted things," he said, Monday (3/17).

He added that the crowds of visitors are often exploited by street vendors to open stalls in prohibited areas, such as sidewalks and roadside. It surely disturbs public order and pedestrians.

"Please do not disturb the public order," he added.

He also appealed the joint personnel to act humanically and proportionally in controlling them.

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, TP Purba stated those 150 joint personnel were Satpol PP, Transportation Sub-agency, PPSU, Police and Army.

"Routine patrol will also be run to avoid traders occupying sidewalk," he stated.
