The Jakarta Provincial Government handed over Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus 2025 educational assistance at the Jakarta City Hall, on Thursday (3/20).
"But now it's easier because it's processed at the sub-district office,"
The simbolic handover was conducted by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno. The program aims to provide more equitable access to education for students from underprivileged families in Jakarta.
A number of this year's KJP Plus beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the program. One of them was Anita (47), a resident of Sunter whose son, Fauzi, is a student at SLB B&C Karya Guna in Cipinang Besar Selatan, East Jakarta. Fauzi received KJP Plus for the first time after three years of unsuccessful attempts to register.
Commission E and Education Agency Discuss Criteria for KJP Plus Beneficiaries"Alhamdulillah, this year Fauzi finally received KJP Plus after several unsuccessful attempts due to the quota being full. The process used to be more difficult; we had to wait in long lines at Rawabunga, sometimes until morning.
But now it's easier because it's processed at the sub-district office," she explained. She believes this program is very helpful for families in covering their children's school expenses. In her view, KJP Plus is well-targeted, especially helping Fauzi, who often delays in paying school fees.
She hopes that the Jakarta Government will continue to improve the system thus more children can benefit from the KJP Plus program.
"This fund is trully meant for school, not for anything else. Unfortunately, some misuse it, which is why it needs to be monitored to ensure that the benefits are felt by those who trully need it," he conveyed.
Meanwhile, Rama Adriansyah, a 10th grade student from SMAN 101 Jakarta, also received KJP Plus for the first time. He feels very helped by this program.
"This assistance is very useful for buying books and school supplies. The registration process was also easy, as my parents and I were assisted by the school. With KJP Plus, I feel more motivated to study harder," he said.
He also commended the KJP Plus program, as he believes it enhances educational access for underprivileged students. He dreams of continuing his education at Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).
"With this great program, I must make the most of the opportunity so that I can achieve my dreams," he concluded.
