Rano Karno Explores Tourism Potential of Onrust and Cipir Islands

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, visited Onrust Island and Cipir Island, Seribu Islands, Thursday (3/20).

I request the Culture Agency to complete the collection of books and historical literacy on both islands

This is done as part of exploring the potential of tourism in Jakarta ahead of its five-hundredth anniversary, in June 2027.

According to him, Onrust Island and Cipir Island have the potential to be developed as historical tourism destinations. One way is by building guest houses to facilitate visitors' stays.

Food Commodity Distribution to Seribu Islands Runs Smoothly

"Despite modifications to the buildings on these two cultural heritage islands are not allowed, regulations do permit additions based on necessity and research," he explained.

Aside that, they function as educational tourism destinations that should be continuously maximized.

"I request the Culture Agency to complete the collection of books and historical literacy on both islands," he added.

As information, before heading to Onrust Island and Cipir Island, he took the time to check the condition of the food product transport ship at Marina Pier, Ancol, North Jakarta.
