Low-Price Staples in Pondok Indah Demanded by Residents

Hundreds of residents flocked low-price staples sell in Pondok Indah Market, Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, Sunday (6/14).

The price is lower 2000 to 3000 rupiahs than normal price per piece

"We hold this event to celebrate 488th Jakarta anniversary. We sell some of staples below the normal price," told South Jakarta 1 Area Manager PD Pasar Jaya, Nurman Adhi, Sunday (6/14).

This event which is supported by Kebayoran Lama Sub-District and Indonesian Poultry Asociation is sell rice, frying oil, chicken egg, and beef.

Staples Price Skyrocketing in Central Jakarta

"We provide 250 kilogram of chicken egg. 3 ton of rice, 2 ton of frying oil and 50 kilogram of beef," Adhi told.

He added, the egg price is Rp 21 thousand per kilogram, rice is Rp 50 thousand per 5 kilogram, Rp 9000 per litre of frying oil and Rp 90 thousand per kilogram of beef.

"The price is lower 2000 to 3000 rupiahs than normal price per piece," he uttered.

Pondok Pinang Urban Village Head, Iwan Santoso admitted this event is give big help for the resident because the staple price skyrocketing currently.

"We planned to hold the same event ib Ramadhan," he told.

A Pondok Pinang Resident, Sinta admitted to very happy by this activity.

"It's helpful because I can buy staples cheaper than normal price, I hope it can be held evey week," she said.
