Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung took firm action regarding the Bank DKI services disruption that was experienced by customers during the Eid holiday.
this is the third time
Pramono officially dismissed Bank DKI's Director of Technology and Operations, Amirul Wicaksono yesterday. The position is now taken by Bank DKI's General Director. The decision was taken following the recurrence of similar incidents which were deemed as negligence in the management and security of Bank DKI's information technology system.
"I need to decide since it already happened three times. First, everything is reported to Bareskrim. Second, action was taken against the IT Director. Because it happened repeatedly, this is the third time, he was dismissed. And the position was held by the Director General and came into effect yesterday," Pramono said, Wednesday (4/9).
Khoirudin: Bank DKI Must Immediately Restore Banking System MaintenancePramono added that the incident resulting in a leak of Bank DKI funds involving Bank DKI's information technology system was not the first time.
"It is not the first time. It happened three times. IT did not maintain it well. There is a leak. Only Bank DKI directors knew the amount," Pramono added.
Pramono has also appointed an independent international institution to conduct an audit, trace and monitor the flow of funds that are suspected of being leaked. The effort aims to thoroughly investigate this problem.
Pramono believes that Bareskrim will soon find out where the funds are flowing through the existing digital footprint. In addition, he also instructed all parties who have passwords and computer devices in related departments to be replaced with new personnel appointed by the President Director of Bank DKI.
Pramono ensured that this incident did not have a direct impact on customer funds despite there was a service disruption. According to him, the loss was actually experienced by Bank DKI due to a leak of funds originating from Bank DKI's reserve funds.
"No impact on customers at all. Bank DKI account at BNI Bank was impacted," Pramono continued.
Pramono emphasized that all Bank DKI transaction facilities have been returned to normal since yesterday.
