Welcoming Ramadan, traffic congestion in capital will experience time shift. It is predicted occur earlier than usual.

“Traffic congestion during Ramadan will shift especially in the afternoon,” said Jakarta Police Public Relation Unit Head, Comr.Pol. M Iqbal, Monday (6/15).

Yet he added, traffic begins earlier than usual. Times spare predicted until 30 minutes.

“Congestion usually happens at 4 PM, it could be faster to 3.30 PM it is because people chase for breakfasting moment. Hopefully at 7.30 PM it would be break down,” he uttered.

On the first week, heavy congestion is predicted happen close to breakfasting time.

“Furthermore, the officers are being prepared several mosques such as Istiqlal, Cut Mutia, Sunda Kelapa, and other mosques to arrange traffic. This is as an anticipation strategy since many flock prayers crowd mosque in the first week,” he expressed.

Meanwhile, in the second week people tend to crowd restaurant to breakfasting together. “In the last week people will crowd terminals and station,” he said.

However,Jakarta Police Metro Jaya will add personnel and place them spread around traffic congestion points.

“We urged all shopping centers management not to let illegal parking operate,” he disclosed.
