Bertemu Gubernur Banten, Pramono Ingin Perluas Transportasi Massal Atasi Kemacetan

Pramono Pushes for Mass Transportation Expansion

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung is advocating for the expansion of the mass transportation network, specifically Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and additional Transjabodetabek routes from Jakarta to its surrounding areas.

This is part of the expansion of what we call Transjabodetabek

He hoped that the MRT project could be extended to Balaraja in Banten Province. This statement was conveyed by hime when he received the Banten Governor, Andra Soni at Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (4/9).

The expansion of the transportation route was expected to encourage a reduction in the use of private vehicles and address traffic congestion in Jakarta and its surrounding areas.

Focusing on Improving Quality of Life, Pramono Shares the City's Achievements

"One example is we will continue to push for the MRT not only to stop at Lebak Bulus but also to be expanded and extended to Balaraja. If that can happen, it will greatly reduce congestion and private vehicle users," he explained.

According to him, the main problem of Jakarta has been the mobility of people to and from the surrounding areas during peak hours.

Therefore, the Jakarta Government would also open five new Transjabodetabek routes. Two of these routes would connect directly to the areas of Tangerang and South Tangerang.

"This is part of the expansion of what we call Transjabodetabek because Jakarta can't solve its traffic problems on its own," he explained.

He also wanted to expand Jaklingko beyond the Jakarta area. Besides transportation issues, this meeting also discussed flooding, waste, and collaboration on the implementation of JAKI application in Banten.

He mentioned that this meeting was a good first step to strengthen cooperation between Jakarta and Banten.

"These two cities indeed intersect in many ways, so we have agreed to discuss together to solve the problems that exist in the field, including issues related to congestion, flooding, and waste," he uttered.

Banten Governor, Andra Soni stated Banten and Jakarta have a close connection, especially in terms of community mobility.

"We both serve as supporting areas, related to Jakarta during the day, Jakarta in the morning, and Jakarta's congestion in the evening; we also experience congestion, and when Jakarta floods, we also get flooded," he explained.

He believed that under the leadership of the current Jakarta Governor, support for agglomeration areas would become even more optimal. Thus, various shared problems could be resolved.
