Kurangi Kemacetan Jakarta, Pramono Dukung Usulan MRT Diperpanjang Hingga Serpong

MRT Coverage will Be Expanded to Parse Congestion in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung supports the Banten Governor, Andra Soni's proposal that wants the MRT Jakarta to be extended from Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, to Serpong, Banten.

I agree

Pramono said it would have a positive impact on increasing the use of Transjabodetabek public transportation.

"I agree. If the MRT train tracks are extended, it will have a positive impact on Transjabodetabek. If necessary, we can extend it to Bekasi," he stated, at Jakarta City Hall, Monday (3/17).

MRT Jakarta - Sarinah Agrees on Potential Promotional Collaboration

He added this would also encourage private vehicle users to switch to the MRT, thereby reducing traffic jams in Jakarta.

However, he emphasized an in-depth economic study was important between the Central Government, Jakarta Government, and Banten Government, to realize this plan.

As information, the MRT construction is partially under the authority of the Central Government, which accounts for 49 percent, and 51 percent falls under the Jakarta Government's authority

"Economically, it needs to be thoroughly examined between the Central Government, Jakarta Government, and Banten Government. I am sure there will be a way out," he stressed.

Further, in a previous meeting with the Minister of Transportation, he proposed that 15 groups of people be able to enjoy this public transportation service for free.

To implement the free Transjakarta and Transjabodetabek services, a comprehensive resolution was needed, including with the Central Government and the related ocal governments.

"So, I will sincerely continue the desire to free 15 groups, not just in Transjakarta, because in Transjakarta 14 groups are already free, but hopefully it can be done in Transjabodetabek," he closed.
