Integrating environmental issues into the public transportation system is a progressive step
"Integrating environmental issues into the public transportation system is a progressive step that needs to be continuously reinforced," he expressed, Wednesday (4/16).
Even, he encouraged Transjakarta to expand its services to other strategic stops, as this program has great potential benefits for the community.
Transjakarta Launches Program From Water to Goodness"Like Monas, Kota Tua and Block M bus stops, which have high passenger volumes. This expansion will strengthen the positive impact of the program in fostering an environmentally friendly culture in public spaces," he explained.
He also asked them to collaborate with the private sector, including bottled water companies and CSR partners. This could expedite the procurement of refill facilities without burdening the City Budget (APBD).
"Initiatives like this open up opportunities for businesses to contribute to the city's sustainability agenda," he explained.
He asserted, the provision of facilities must be accompanied by active socialization through social media, informational materials at bus stops, and the active role of Transjakarta personnel. Education for passengers about the benefits of bringing tumblers and its impact on reducing plastic waste should also be an important part of this program.
"Jakarta Government also needs to promote a monitoring system for water quality, cleanliness of facilities, and usage volume at each refill station. The use of technology such as reporting systems or evaluation dashboards will help ensure that this program runs effectively, sustainably, and continues to evolve according to the needs of the residents," he stated.
