Fire Gutted 4 Homes in Pondok Pinang

Fire hit four homes located in a densely populated, at Jalan Pondok Pinang 3, RT 03/02, Pondok Pinang Urban Village, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, Tuesday (6/16). It was allegedly triggered by electrical short-circuit.

When the incident occured, those homes were empty, thus the fire were late to be extinguished

Head of RT 03/02 Pondok Pinang Urban Village, Ridwan uttered the blaze broke out in a house occupied by Mama Arul about 10 AM. The home which is coincident made the fire rapidly stroke 3 rental homes beside it.

"When the incident occurred, those homes were empty, thus the fire were late to be extinguished. Moreover the buildings materials are mostly made of woods thus the fire rapidly expand," he stated.

A Luxury House in North Jakarta Burnt

He told 10 fire trucks from South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-Department arrived to the scene about 5 minutes later to manage the fire thus it did not expand to more buildings.

"The fire was successfully extinguished about 40 minutes later. There is no casualty found in this incident," explained Head of Operational Section for South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-Department, Edy Sucipto.

Besides burning 4 homes, the incident also destroyed 1 motorcycle. Impact of the fire incident made traffic congestion along Jalan Ciputat Raya up to 1 kilometer.
