386 RWs in Central Jakarta Operate Waste Bank Unit

Central Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency recorded there are 386 RWs out of 44 urban villages in eight districts have built waste bank units.

413 waste bank units have been constructed in Central Jakarta

Central Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency Head, Slamet Riyadi explained, there were 77 out of 386 RWs in Central Jakarta have no waste bank units. Then in less than two months, now all RWs already have it.

"Total 413 waste bank units have been constructed in Central Jakarta," he explained.

413 Waste Banks in Central Jakarta Actively Operating

Slamet added the number of waste bank unit in each RW is vary from one to three units. In fact, some of the waste bank units still are not functioned maximally.

Of 413 waste bank units, only 342 units are operated maximally. The remaining 71 waste bank units are listed as inactive category.

In order to solve the matter, he requested his ranks to strengthen the inactice waste bank units.

Slamet added his ranks will conduct coaching by cooperating with urban village to accelerate the process.

Hopefully the waste bank units will be able to reduce waste volume transported to Bantar Gebang Integrated Dump Site, and give economical benefits for residents.

"Surely we will accelerate the household waste management socialization to get massive support from residents," he stated.
