Rano Leads 29th Regional Autonomy Day Ceremony in City Hall Yard

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, led the ceremony commemorating the 29th Regional Autonomy Day (Otda) 2025 at the City Hall yard, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Friday (4/25).

While reading the speech of Home Minister, Tito Karnavian, Rano expressed appreciation to all regional government officials, community leaders, academics, media personnel, and all elements of the nation who have made tangible contributions to the success of regional autonomy implementation in Indonesia.

"The spirit of collaboration and active participation from various parties will be the main pillar in strengthening responsive, transparent, and accountable local governance," he expressed.

According to him, Indonesia is great not only in terms of its vast territory and population but also in its cultural diversity, natural resources, and regional potential.

However, this greatness would not mean much without strong synergy and collaboration among different levels of government. Hence, the synergy between the central and regional governments is essential to achieve the nation's ideals, as outlined in Indonesia's constitution.

He mentioned the theme of the 29th Regional Autonomy Day commemoration highlights the importance of synergy between the central government and regions in building the archipelago towards a golden Indonesia in 2045.

To realize this, budget support is needed to strengthen technology, optimize agricultural land in Jakarta, develop entrepreneurship, infrastructure and industrial investment.

Further, the improvement of the quality of human resources and apparatus, as well as strengthening accountability through the implementation of e-government. This is important for the transparency of budget management, strengthening the internal oversight system, and developing an integrated public complaint channel.

"Once again, I congratulate you on the 29th Regional Autonomy Day. May the spirit of Regional Autonomy always be a driving force," he closed.
