Fishermen Complaining About the Slowness Process of SIPI

Hundreds of fisherman in North Jakarta are complaining about the slowness process of Fishing Licensing (SIPI) for boat weighing above 10 gross tons (GT). Whereas, most of fishermen had processed it at the North Jakarta North Jakarta One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) more than 2 months ago.

As a matter of fact, its process only takes one week in Marine Sub-Department than in North Jakarta PTSP which takes months

Consequently, they are reluctant to go sailing. Because, if it was done without the license, the boat would be seized. And it has an negative impact on their economic.

Leader of Jakarta Indonesian Fishermen Association (HNSI), Yan Winata Sasmita stated all fishermen, the boat owners weighing above 10 gross tons all over North Jakarta had proposed the SIPI to North Jakarta PTSP three months ago. But, until this time, it is not yet completed.

"As a matter of fact, its process only takes one week in Marine Sub-Department than in North Jakarta PTSP which takes months," he complained, Saturday (6/20).

Those fishermen, Yan said, had visited the North Jakarta Maritime, Fishery, and Food Security a couple of times ago. Yet they failed because the authority of license processing lies in the PTSP.

On the other hand, Head of North Jakarta Maritime, Fishery, and Food Security, Una Rusmana confirmed that the fishermen came complaining about the uncertain SIPI licensing of boat above 10 gross tons.

"We had told them that the licensing process was not in us, but through PTSP," he asserted.

Then Head of North Jakarta PTSP Office, Johan Girsang disputed that his party slowing the licensing process. It is because its authority is still in Jakarta PTSP level.

"But the authority for signing will be handed over to us. Probably it would be realized and completed next week," he closed.
