Jakarta City Council's Commission E Chairman, Muhammad Thamrin said his side fully supports Jakarta Provincial Government's plan to continue Jakarta E-Prix.

He assessed that the electric car racing event is one way to encourage Jakarta to become a global city.
"Surely we'll give our support if Jakarta Provincial Government plans to continue Formula E as part of effort to support Jakarta as a global city," he said, Friday (4/25).
City Government Fully Supports Jakarta E-Prix 2025He explained that Formula E is part of the transformation towards environmentally friendly vehicles. This event is also considered to have a positive impact in promoting Jakarta, as well as encouraging the growth of the tourism sector and MSMEs.
"We believe this event can be a symbol of Jakarta's commitment to sustainable development and innovation in the transportation sector," he added.
Thamrin also assessed that Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung's effort who tried to cut the commitment fee as an way to maintain the continuity of this international event was a positive thing.
He stated that Jakarta Provincial Government needs to ensure that Jakarta E-Prix to give multiplier effect for local economy for the sake of resident welfare.
"Jakarta Provincial Government must also stay focus in local budget efficiency," he stated.
