Governor Pramono to Take Firm Actions Against Brawls

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung will take decisive measures to address the ongoing issue of brawls in the capital through two approaches, prevention and enforcement.

"Therefore, we will address such incidents with firm measures,"

He has instructed the newly appointed Head of Satpol PP to coordinate intensively with the police to prevent brawls in various areas of Jakarta. He emphasized that this coordination is crucial for maintaining public order and ensuring the safety of residents.

"For prevention, I have requested the new Satpol PP Head coordinate with police to prevent brawls," he conveyed during his visit to Rusunawa Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, Thursday (5/8).

From the information he received, people involved in brawls are often under the influence of certain substances. To address this, he stressed the importance of conducting enforcement operations to prevent situations that could trigger violent actions.

"Therefore, operations must be also carried out to prevent brawls from occurring," he added.

Pramono expressed his concern after viewing various brawl-related content on social media platforms, where many participants were seen carrying sharp weapons. In response, he affirmed that the Jakarta Government will tackle brawl cases with firm actions.

"Seeing brawl content on Youtube, I was horrified because many were carrying sharp weapons. Therefore, we will address such incidents with firm measures," he asserted.
