Pramono Plans to Revamp Jakarta's Parking System for Cashless Payments

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung supports the implementation of cashless parking payment system in Jakarta. According to him, this initiative will enhance the transparanct and efficiency in parking management.

"So that parking can be managed better, I support going cashless. This will improve the system," said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall, on Tuesday (5/20).

Regarding the proposal to establish a Parking Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) by the Jakarta DPRD, Pramono stated that he would discuss it in more detail with his team. He emphasized that the Jakarta Government is striving to improve the parking management system.

City Asked to Optimize Revenue Through Parking Management

"Indeed, we will also make improvements in parking, because parking in Jakarta hasn't changed for 15 years," he mentioned.

Previously, Jakarta DPRD Commission A Vice Chairperson, Alia Noorayu Laksono, urges the implementation of a cashless payment system for all parking services in Jakarta. This step is considered in line with Jakarta's vision as a global city.

Alia also stressed the importance of human resource readiness and requested the Jakarta Transportation Agency to hire parking attendants capable of operating digital systems.

"It is also necessary to recruit parking attendants who meet standards and have skills in using technology and application, and also do not to take parking fees beyond what is appropriate," she asserted.

On the other hand, Commission B Member, Wa Ode Herlina, conveyed that the digitalization of parking payments, both on-street and off-street, is expected to increae Jakarta's Regional Revenue (PAD).

Wa Ode added that cashless system can be a solution for transparency and effeciency in managing parking fees, which will impact the advancement of Jakarta.
