Ahok Akan Perketat Kontrak Operator Bus Transjakarta

3 Accident Cases, Transjakarta Contract will Be Revoked

The rampant accident involving Transjakarta bus lately has made Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama fed up. Therefore he will tighten the regulation of agreement with bus operator until certification for the driver hire to decrease the accident.

From now on, we will take strict sanction by revoking the contract if the accident occurs three times

Ahok threatened to revoke the agreement with the operator if three accident cases have occurred. It is hoped the threat will be able to motivate bus driver to drive more carefully.

“I won’t repeat Transjakarta mistake in the last 10 years. From now on, we will take strict sanction by revoking the contract if the accident occurs three times,” he asserted at City Hall, Wednesday (6/24).

Djarot Wants Old Transjakarta Buses Operations to Be Stopped

According to him, there was no proper standard operating procedure in the contract. "It's totally mess," he added.

Building a company with professional circles is needed to manage Transjakarta. Unlike with the previous version of management under the dept. of transportation in form of integrated service unit (UPT).

Ahok stressed that it is easier controlling Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) than UPT. The reshuffle is easier to be applied in BUMD because UPT consists of civil servant who can not be sacked.
