City-Chungcheongnam Korea Establish Strategic Partnership

Jakarta Provincial Government collaborates with Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Government of Republic Korea at Balairung, Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday (5/27).

The cooperation was started by signing the Letter of Intent (Lol) between Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung with Chungcheongnam-do Governor, Kim Tae Heum.

The cooperation covers various areas, including exchange of policies and administrative expertise, cultural understanding and exchange, economic and industrial cooperation, exhibitions and promotions, and education and youth cooperation.

Chungcheongnam-do is an inspiring example for Jakarta in accelerating regional development as one of the provinces with the fastest economic growth in the Republic of Korea.

Pramono also invited the Governor of Chungcheongnam-do to jointly strengthen trade, economic, cultural, friendship, sports and student exchange relations.

Meanwhile, Chungcheongnam-do Governor Kim Tae Heum welcomed the cooperation. He also believes that the partnership between the two provinces will run well under the leadership of Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung.

"I feel that this collaboration will go well by seeing that the Governor has many similarities with me," he stated.

According to him, Chungcheongnam-do is a leading region in the economy and culture of Korea. The province is ranked 2nd with the highest export number in Korea.

"Samsung and Hyundai are heavily investing in high-tech industries such as semiconductors and future cars in our area," he added.

Moreover, Kim Tae Heum also supports the Governor Pramono's vision to realize Jakarta as top 20 global cities.
