East Jakarta KPKP Discards Unsafe Sacrificial Animal Organs

The East Jakarta Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency has destroyed 30.7 kilograms of liver and 2.8 kilograms of lungs from sacrificial animals deemed unfit for consumption.

"Personnel from KPKP Sub-agency are assisted by 26 students from Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) ,"

East Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Taufik Yulianto, conveyed that joint personnel have examined 1,306 slaughtered sacrificial animals in 55 locations

"We have examined the meat and other organs of sacrificial animals, consisting of 431 cows, 6 buffaloes, 804 goats, and 65 sheep," he said on Saturday (6/7).

He explained that similar inspections will continue until Monday (6/8) to ensure the meat and organs are safe for public consumption.

"In these inspection, personnel from KPKP Sub-agency are assisted by 26 students from Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) and Jakarta KPKP Agency," he added.

Taufik also urged the slaughtering personnel not to dispose of waste carelessly, especially into water channels, as it could cause pollution.

"Pay attention to health and environmental cleanliness to prevent the spread of diseases," he emphasized.

Meanwhile, IPB student Muhammad Ammar Rehan said he has been involved twice in monitoring and inspecting sacrificial animals in East Jakarta.

"It's a valuable experience. We can apply the knowledge we've gained to help the community. Thank you to East Jakarta KPKP for the opportunity," he expressed.
