The commotion was inevitable. Residents quickly scrambled to try to tame the fire that was raging in one of the houses. Meanwhile, the local administration contacted Gulkarmat officers.

Shortly after, the fire extinguish personnel  arrived at the scene. They managed to extinguish the flames together with residents. The fire did not spread to other buildings. One of the residents who was injured was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

This incident was part of a firefighting simulation scene held by the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat), Ciracas District Sector, Wednesday (6/11).

Ciracas District Gulkarmat Head, Sunaryo said the simulation was conducted at the location because it is a densely populated settlement and there has been a fire case. In this activity, one house building was used as an object for fire handling simulation by residents.

"We deployed 28 personnel with seven firetrucks," he said.

Susukan Urban Village, Andri Priwitama Maila explained this simulation involved 50 residents representing RT, RW, LMK, FKDM, PKK cadre, Dasawisma, Jumantik and local figures.

"Thanks to East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency for providing education and socialization for our residents," he stated.

Andri admitted that his side always cooperates with the sub-agency and other units such as Social Sub-agency, Health Sub-agency, Puskesmas, Transportation Sub-agency, Satpol PP and PMI if there is fire case.

"Hopefully this simulation can also be held in other RWs," he hoped.
