Eight East Jakarta SDA Task Forces Handle Eroded Retaining Wall in Cibubur

Eight personnel of East Jakarta Water Resource taskforce, Wednesday (6/11), are deployed to handle eroded retaining wall on Jalan Taruna 1 Barat, RT 18/5 Cibubur, Ciracas. Handling is run by installing dolken and sandbags.

Ciracas District Water Resource Taskforce Coordinator, Deby said the six meters long and 2.5 meters high of the Cipinang River retaining wall collapsed due to being eroded by high water discharge. The condition of the retaining wall is still natural so it is often eroded by water and collapsed at the beginning of June.

"We install dolken and sandbangs to avoid another landslide," she said, Wednesday (6/11).

BPBD Reminds of Potential Landslides in Jakarta

According to her, permanent retaining wall will be constructed in August.

"The landslide location is near with resident's houses. So we need to accelerate the handling," she added.

Usman (41), local resident, appreciated the officers for handling the retaining wall to avoid another landslide.

"Hopefully the permanent retaining wall can be constructdled soon," he hoped.
