City Council fully supports this construction
Yuke said that the construction of the 1.4 kilometer long embankment is targeted to be completed by the end of 2025. The location for construction was chosen because the area is one of the most vulnerable area to tidal flooding.
"City Council fully supports this construction. The budget was already agreed," she said, Thursday (6/12).

"We want to ensure the implementation is run well and the results are felt by the residents since it uses large budget," she added.
Furthermore, Yuke also emphasized the importance of controlling land use around the embankment area. She reminded that there should be no more additional housing to prevent land subsidence.
"Governor's instruction must be monitored well. We must stop the using of groundwater to be replaced with piping water services," she stated.
