East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin Opens Ganceng Festival 2025

East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin, officially opened the Ganceng Festival 2025 in Pondok Ranggon Urban Village, Cipayung Sub-district. The festival will run until Saturday (6/14) tomorrow.

Younger generations must preserve this tradition

There will be a preservation of the local wisdom of Sedekah Bumi Keramat Ganceng, religious lectures, assistance to beneficiaries, and a bazaar involving micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

He expressed that he was very happy and grateful to attend the event for the first time after officially taking office as the Mayor of East Jakarta.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), I was able to attend the Sedekah Bumi Keramat Ganceng in person last night. It was truly extraordinary, it needs to be preserved as it is rare in Jakarta, the harmony among residents, the solidarity, and it also revives MSMEs," he expressed, Friday (6/13).

He assessed, this festival is very interesting, as there is a blend of Sundanese and Betawi culture, especially in the dialect of the language used.

"Younger generations must preserve this tradition. Thus, the culture that is a local wisdom will not be lost to the progress of time," he explained.

Local Community Leader, Boih Diman, invited all layers of society, especially in Pondok Ranggon, to remain united, harmonious, and to strengthen ties of friendship.

"The preservation of this nation's culture can also serve as a means to strengthen the bonds of community. Local wisdom must be maintained so that it doesn't become extinct," he stated.
