Welcoming Jakarta's Anniversary, City Government Removes Motor Vehicle Tax Sanctions

Jakarta Provincial Government through Regional Revenue Board (Bapenda) issued a regional tax relaxation policy by eliminating administrative sanctions for Motor Vehicle Tax and Motor Vehicle Transfer Fees.

The policy is issued to welcome Jakarta's 498 Anniversary and Indonesia's 80th Anniversary, as well as provide convenience to the public to pay their tax obligations.

Jakarta Bapenda Head, Lusiana Herawati said the policy is based on Head of the Regional Revenue Agency of Jakarta Province Decree Number e-0046 of 2025 about the Elimination of Administrative Sanctions by Position for Types of Motor Vehicle Tax and Motor Vehicle Transfer Fees.

She added that this policy is also a commitment of the Regional Government to make Jakarta a friendly and just city.

"Regional Government wants to ease the burden on residents by eliminating sanctions at this special moment for Jakarta residents.So that they can also feel the happiness of Jakarta's Anniversary and the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day," Lusi said, Friday (6/13).

She explained that the policy for the elimination of administrative sanctions for PKB and BBNKB in 2025 is valid from June 14, 2025 to August 31, 2025 for administrative sanctions in the form of interest arising from late payment of taxes owed and/or fines arising from late registration of motor vehicles.

"It is given automatically by the system when they make a payment. People do not need to apply to get this policy," she explained.

According to her, this anniversary celebration is a momentum for the ranks to express their gratitude to all Jakarta residents for their support and cooperation in paying regional taxes.

"We appeal the residents who have motorcycle and have not fulfilled the obligations to take advantage of this policy," she stated.
