The Jakarta Parks and City Forests Agency (Distamhut) is tightening supervision of parks, especially those that operate 24 hours.

Jakarta Data and Information Center (Pusdatin) Head, Ivan Murcahyo said, several steps were taken to strengthen the surveillance system in a bid to maintain the park's function as a safe and comfortable public space for the community.
"We are striving to tighten supervision in the parks for 24 hours, particularly at Langsat and Ayodia parks. This is a form of commitment to maintaining order and preventing potential actions that could disrupt security and comfort in those parks," he expressed, Tuesday (6/17).

"Initially, there were four officers, now there are eight at night," he expressed.
The next step was to increase the number of lighting points in the park area. Adequate lighting was expected to minimize vulnerable spots and create a sense of safety for visitors, especially at night.
Lastly, it involved sending Satpol PP officers and regional elements in the form of a three-pillar synergy. This collaboration included regular monitoring and taking action if suspicious activities are found around the park.
"We urge the residents to participate in maintaining the security and comfort of public spaces by reporting any suspicious activities to the local authorities," he closed.
