Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, officially opened the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2025 at the JIExpo Kemayoran arena yesterday, Thursday (6/19).

This year's month-long Jakarta Fair opened as part of the capital’s 498th anniversary celebrations.

In his speech, Pramono expressed his gratitude for the successful organization of the Jakarta Fair once again.

"By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim on Thursday, I declare the Jakarta Fair 2025 officially opened," he expressed.

Jakarta Fair started as a simple exhibition in Monas area, which has now developed into an exhibition event showcasing various Indonesian products on a national and international scale. Carrying the theme "Supporting Advanced Indonesia Through Sustainable Innovation and National Creations," Jakarta Fair 2025 emphasizes its commitment to promoting national economic growth.

Amid its transformation into a national economic hub and a global city, Jakarta recorded a contribution of 16.85 percent to the national GDP in the first quarter, with an economic growth of 4.95 percent and an unemployment rate decreasing to 6.18 percent.

He hoped that the transaction value and the number of visitors could surpass last year's achievements. On the global stage, Jakarta has been striving to realize its long-term mission to become a global city in the top 20 over the next 20 years.

"In the next five years, Jakarta hopefully, which is currently ranked 74th out of 156, will be able to become one of the top 50 global cities," he continued.

He also expressed appreciation and gratitude to PT JIExpo as the organizing partner, the sponsors, event supporters, and the participants from the business world both domestically and internationally who took part.

"Let's strengthen economic growth through innovations by our nation's children and expand market access for global business actors to compete in the global market," he expressed.

Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2025 Organizing Committee Chairperson, Siti Hartati Murdaya, explained Jakarta Fair will take place for 25 days, from June 19 to July 13.

Besides the trade exhibition, this fair is also a symbol of the spirit of collaboration for the revival of the national creative industry.

She said that the theme reflects the spirit of promoting the competitiveness of local products and supporting national economic development through sustainable innovation.

"Jakarta Fair also serves as a strategic platform for the development of the MICE sector, which includes Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions in Indonesia, directly impacting job creation, cultural promotion, and strengthening national identity," he explained.

She added this event serves as a tangible manifestation of our collective efforts to maintain stability and economic growth. Hopefully, it could sustain the momentum of economic growth amid global turbulence and keep this nation united.

"I hope this event can be better than last year and continue to grow in the coming years," she added.

The products showcased in this event come from various sectors such as automotive, information technology, sporting goods, fashion and garments, furniture, electronics, banking, culinary, as well as herbal products and services.

"This demonstrates a commitment to provide ample space for local entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and small and medium-sized industries to grow and be recognized at the international level," she closed.
