Rano: Jakarta PROVOKE! Becomes an Annual Routine Calendar in Jakarta

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, officially opened the Jakarta PROVOKE! 2025 contemporary art exhibition at Pos Bloc, Pasar Baru, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta. The event is slated to last for 15 days, until Thursday (7/3).

There will be 19 artists performed in Jakarta PROVOKE!

"This is the second time in the second year. Jakarta PROVOKE! will become an annual routine calendar," he said.

He explained Jakarta PROVOKE! is a contemporary art event that highlights the creative pulse of the capital through the expressions of artists across disciplines and generations.

"This year, there will be 19 artists performed in Jakarta PROVOKE!," he concluded.

He asserted, this Jakarta PROVOKE! contemporary art exhibition is also part of the celebration of Jakarta's 498th anniversary. Hence, he requested that next year's event be held in conjunction with the city's anniversary.

Regarding the various works displayed, he appreciates the artists who continue to actively voice new ideas and address social, environmental, and cultural issues through their artistic works.

He hoped that next year's event would involve even more artists.

He acknowledged, this contemporary art exhibition is part of efforts to build Jakarta as a cultural city. Hope the cultural events held could facilitate artists to create and express themselves.

"Jakarta Government supports this event. Hope this is the discourse or the beginning of our efforts to make Jakarta a cultural city and a global city," he stated.
