City Council Chairman Calls on Residents to Maintain City Harmony

Jakarta City Council Chairman, Khoirudin invited all elements of society to work together to maintain the harmony and peace of Jakarta, which is now entering its 498th year.

According to him, Jakarta is striving to become one of the top 50 global cities as it approaches its fifth century.

"Please pray from all residents of Jakarta. Let's protect the harmony and peace of Jakarta together," he expressed, Monday (6/23).

City Council Wants Jakarta to Remain a City of People's Hope

He asserted, the Jakarta Government continues to provide the best service to its residents, in line with the mandate of Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung in his speech at the plenary meeting commemorating the city's anniversary.

He explained, Jakarta was directed to become a global city that is culturally rich, inclusive for all groups, and livable.

"Insya Allah (God willing), we'll welcome Jakarta five centuries into the future. Currently, Jakarta is ranked 74th among global cities. Our target is to enter the top 50 in the world," he explained.

He also emphasized the ongoing challenges, such as flooding and traffic congestion. Therefore, he encourages residents to switch to public transportation.

"Our public transportation is already incredibly affordable and comfortable, from LRT, MRT, Transjakarta, to Minitrans that reach residential areas. All of this is a gift from the Jakarta Government for all residents, even for communities around Jakarta such as Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi," he said.
