City Council Wants Jakarta to Remain a City of People's Hope

The Jakarta Government has hosted various lively events to celebrate Jakarta's 498th anniversary.

May Jakarta remain glorious in the future

Jakarta City Council Vice Chairwoman, Rany Mauliani congratulated Jakarta on its 498 year yesterday. He hoped, Jakarta could continue to be a place that gives hope to the people.

"May Jakarta remain glorious in the future and become a city full of hope for all Indonesians," she expresser, Monday (6/23).

Council Chairman Invites All to Build Jakarta as A Global City

According to her, Jakarta is a city rich in ethnic and cultural diversity. Currently, Jakarta is transforming into one of the 50 global cities as it approaches its five-hundred-year mark.

"With its diverse culture and character of its residents, may Jakarta continue to improve on its journey towards becoming a global city," she explained.

In this 498th anniversary celebration, the Jakarta City Council also enlivened the event with various activities. Starting from the City Council greeting residents through a fun walk during Car Free Day (CFD), to a bazaar involving MSMEs.

They will also hold the Kebon Sirih Berselawat event on Friday (6/28) night, as part of a series of celebrations filled with religious and communal nuances.
