South Jakarta Expands TB Alert Villages

South Jakarta Health Sub-agency held a monitoring and evaluation (Monev) of TB Alert Village 2024 program and a Socialization of Additional TB Alert Villages in 2025 at Antasari Room, South Jakarta Mayor's Office.

"Let us work together to eliminate TB by 2030,"

South Jakarta Secretary, Mukhlisin, stated that health is a basic human need. Therefore, a healthy lifestyle paradigm should be implemented through strategies focused on promotive, preventive efforts, and community empowerment.

He explained, the implementation of TB Alert Village (Kampung Siaga TB) is in line with direct instructions from South Jakarta Mayor, particularly in accelerating TB elimination in South Jakarta.

"To eliminate TB in 2030, all sectors must act according to their roles," he emphasized.

According to him, collaboration between government, health, and private sectors in developing TB Alert Village would help accelerate TB elimination efforts in South Jakarta.

"We hope all sectors, from city, sub-district, urban village, RW and RT levels to actively participate. For 2025, I'm urging each urban village to add at least one more TB Alert Village," he said.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Yudi Dimyati, noted that currently, each sub-districts has one TB Alert Village, or 65 locations across the region.

In order to speed up the target in 2030, the South Jakarta Government has requested each urban village to add one more, setting a goal of 130 TB Alert Villages by 2025.

“The expansion process can start from June to July 2025, with support from sub-district and urban village heads,” he added.

Therefore, Yudi also urged all health cadres to actively observe, socialize, and monitor residents showing symptoms of TB.

"The point is, everyone must be involved. Do not avoid or stigmatize TB patients. Let us work together to eliminate TB by 2030," he affirmed.
