South Jakarta Government continues its efforts to eradicate Tuberculosis (TB), a contagious disease.

South Jakarta Acting Deputy Mayor, Ali Murthadho, stated that World TB Day is a key moment in the global campaign to raise awareness about TB and foster support for its eradication.

During the 2025 World Tuberculosis Day commemoration at South Jakarta City level which held at PT Paragon Hall, Jalan Swadarma Raya, Ulujami Urban Village, Pesanggrahan Sub-district, Ali urged all stakeholders to escalate their efforts in educating public and sharing innovations to control TB spread.
"We also need to encourage all parties to actively participate in controlling TB spread. I thank all parties who have actively participated in this event. Let us together commit to work collaboratively in accelerating TB control," he said.
Meanwhile, South Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Yudi Dimyati, explained that TB remains a health issue both globally and in Indonesia. Especially, in the South Jakarta area alone, there are 13,245 TB cases in 2024.
He asserted that TB must be eliminated collectively, as it is a contagious disease that requires serious treatment and time.
"TB disease not only impacts the health sector, but also social, psychological, and economic aspects of the community in the future," he mentioned.
