The firemen successfully put out the fire at H Ibu dan Anak Hermina Hospital (RSIA) on Jalan Jatinegara Barat, RT 09/01, Kampung Melayu Urban Village, Jatinegara Sub-district, Wednesday (7/2).

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) Head, Muchtar Zakaria said, the fire was allegedly triggered by an electricity short-circuit in the Pharmacy Room, 3rd floor.
He assessed, early intervention efforts had been done by the hospital. Unluckily, the fire quickly spread, causing thick smoke.

He explained, 10 fire trucks with 50 personnel were deployed to conduct the firefighting process.
"We managed to control it at 7.29 AM. No casualties in the incident," he stressed.
In total, 61 patients undergoing treatment were successfully evacuated to a safer location.
"The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the police. So far, the site has been cordoned off with police tape and is undergoing investigation," he added.
One of the patients at RSIA Hermina, Weny (36), reported hearing an explosion accompanied by thick smoke spreading to several rooms on multiple floors.
